Parkour Cellphone Game

Parkour Race FreeRun Game from developer Madbox is easy to play, intuitive to learn and nifty pass the time fun! Remember the Daniel Craig Bond movie Casino Royale? Remember the foot chase in Jamaica with 007 in hot pursuit of that acrobatic bomb maker?

That acrobatics combo of running, jumping, sliding and climbing urban objects, rooftops, walls and varying building obstacles is called Parkour.

The game is played in first person, which starts at a solo stage, overcoming obstacles leaping from building to building in pursuit of completing the course without falling from the high rise.

As the stages advance, you compete racing other characters vying for 1st place. The objective is to nab 1st place each stage to earn a golden key and the potential to unlock other in-app goodies.

The game interface (UI) and ease of character movement and direction is fine, but, the experience (UX) is a bit heavy on ads to promote discovery of other games. After the player completes each stage, ads for other games are presented in a pretty intrusive manner.

It’d be better if players who finish first are advanced to the next stage without ads interruption until they lose, or, after a player maximum number of consecutive first place wins.

The graphics of the characters are rudimentary but the aesthetics overall are vivid, especially the building obstacle courses, plus, the color scheme. You can also change cities, a cool feature.

Consistent first place wins unlocks collecting rewards (watch for the crowns!) which is great, but, does have an issue where sometimes, the game is slow to fetch the prize selections you make.

Madbox needs to work on that for sure, but at least that’s only an issue after a game is finished.

Haven’t played a parkour game that’s held my attention in a good long while; recommend giving this one a try and if you enjoy as well, watch to see what other games this developer makes.
